Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the healthcare needs of patients seeking examination and treatment at Hai Phong International General Hospital in 2025.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from March 2025 to May 2025, involving 270 patients receiving examination and treatment at the internal medicine and surgical departments of Hai Phong International General Hospital. Data were collected using a self-designed questionnaire. The content validity of the instrument was assessed, with all item-level content validity indices (I-CVI) ≥ 1.0 and a scale-level content validity index using universal agreement (S-CVI/UA) of 1.0.
Results: The proportion of patients with high healthcare needs was 35.6%. Among them, the proportion of patients with psychosocial care needs accounted for 65.2%, whereas the proportion of patients with needs related to post-discharge care and access to healthcare services accounted for only 27.8%.
Conclusion: Patients demonstrated high needs for medical care, personal hygiene care, and psychosocial support. The hospital should strengthen the provision of medical care, personal hygiene care, and psychosocial care for patients.
