Abstract
Objective: To describe the knowledge of nursing students about complications toward peripheral intravenous infusion, and to analyse several factors associated with the knowledge of those students.
Method: A cross – sectional descriptive study was conducted on 374 second to fourthe year nursing students at Hanoi Meducal University.
Results: The knowledge of nursing students about complications related to peripheral intravenous infusion was found at moderate level (47.4%) . Factors show significantly correlated to level of the knowledge included type of class, year of enrolment, participation clinical internships, experienced with Infusion complications on patients, caring for patients with complications, and HMU campus.
Conclusion: The knowledge of nursing students about conplications of intravenous infusion should be focused in nursing educational program.
