Abstract
Objectives: To survey on the clinical nurses’ activities of patient education and to determine related factors.
Method: A cross-sectional design was carried out from 12/2017 to 5/2018. A self-completed questionnnaire was used to assess the awareness of 190 clinical nurses based on nurse’s activities doing while ducating patients included acquaintance, listening, observation, making questions, document using, motivation, encourage...
Results: General knowledge was not high with well-educated accounting about 66.8% and 13.2% of nurses had poor knowledge on health education. In this study, age and year of experience were related to health education knowledge (p <0.05).
Conclusion: The age and year of experience related to nurses’s health education knowledge. This indicates that the training should be provided to improve the knowledge of health education for nursing, especially nursing young people.
