Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the change of maternal attitude about caring for children who suffer from neonatal jaundice at Nam Dinh province Obstetrical hospital after health educational intervention.
Method: Intervention with evaluated before and after study on 151 mothers about at Nam Dinh province Obstetrical hospital from January to September 2015.
Results: Before the intervention, attitude of mothers about caring for children who suffer from neonatal jaundice was low. After the intervention, maternal attitude was improved significantly. The percentage of mothers with very positive attitude increased from 15,5% to 45,9%, not very positive attitude reduced from 20,3% to 4,7%. The difference was statistically significant with p <0,05.
Conclusion: Maternal attitude about caring for children who suffer from neonatal jaundice was low and there was a significant change in attitude of mothers after intervention.
