Abstract
Objective: To survey the current status of implementing the team-based caring model at Cao Bang General Hospital and propose some solutions to improve the quality of care.
Methods: A cross-sectional description conducted on 277 patients and 87 healthcare providers at Cao Bang General Hospital in 2024.
Results: The results show that the proportion of medical staff who commented and evaluated the application of the team care model was reasonable acout for 93,4 and above 90 % satisfied about this model. Patients were satisfied with the team-care activities. However, the proportion of medical staff who did not understand the patient’s condition to report to the team did not understand the risks and complications of the patient. The level of confidence of medical staff participating in the team care model was low (8%). About 98% of doctors did not give comments to the team; 96% only read the patient’s name through communication when going to the ward. 20.9 to 28% of patients have not been fully advised on regulations, obligations, and ward order.
Conclusion: The proportion of medical staff who commented and evaluated the application of the team care model is reasonable and, at the same time, evaluated and commented positively on the model. Patients are satisfied with this activities. However, the operation of this model among medical staff and patients is not consistent. Improvements in this care model are very necessary. Hospitals need to have a plan to train and unify knowledge and practice between doctors and nurses when participating in this model.
