Abstract

Objectives: To determine good knowledge and practice of self-care of nutrition and physical activity of outpatients with típ 2 diabetes at Hoa Vang District Medical Center.

Methods: A cross-sectional study on 418 outpatients with type 2 diabetes was conducted. Using a pre-designed questionnaire to assess knowledge and practice of self-care of nutrition and physical activity from December 2022 to August 2023.

Results: Knowledge of self-care of nutrition and physical activity of type 2 diabetes patients was 8.6%. However, 25.1% of patients still had achieved practice of self-care of nutrition and physical activity.

Conclusions: knowledge and practice of self-care on nutrition and physical activity of típ 2 diabetes patients are still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen health education for patients to improve knowledge and treatment compliance to help patients improve their health and quality of life.
