Abstract

Objective: Describe the occupational stress of surgical nursing and identify related factors.

Method: A study was conducted on 104 surgical nursing at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Cross-sectional descritive study. 

Result: The average age of the study participants was 31.89 ± 5.02 and the angverage and occupational stress score is 129.08 ± 35.24 (50.8% of the scale’s maximum score). T-test, ANOVA: The average occupational stress score of single surgical nurses, college education level, and number of years of experience < 5 years is higher. Surveying the linear correlation between two quantitative variables shows that: Age and monthly income have a strong negative linear correlation.

Conclusions: Our study was conducted on 104 surgical nursing subjects at Hanoi Medical University Hospital, with an average occupational stress score of 129.08 (35.24), corresponding to 59.76% of the maximum score on the ENSS scale (216).The young surgical nursing has college education level, single, number of years of experience < 5 years and low monthly income is higher risk subjects.
